FREE Patient Event – Saturday 12th May, Central London

All those affected by ACC are invited to take part in an endocrine disease patient information day held by AMEND (Association for Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Disorders).  The event is FREE, including lunch and refreshments, and will be held from 10am until 5pm in central London.  There is a free creche to take care of children aged 12 and under.

Programme:

  • Learning to be a patient (surgical prehabilitation and rehabilitation, dealing with diagnosis)
  • Becoming an expert patient (research involvement, communications with medical staff)
  • ACC patient experience talk and discussion session
  • Partners and carers session
  • Wind down relaxation session
  • Evening drinks reception to celebrate AMEND’s 15th birthday

Wonderful opportunity to meet others in the same or similar situations | Lovely, friendly atmosphere

Speakers at our very first patient event included, Professor Weibke Arlt (Consultant Endocrinologist, Birmingham), Mr Radu Mihai (Consultant Endocrine Surgeon, Oxford), and Mrs Kym Winter (Psychotherapist)
